Original Backgrounds - Chaos/Bretonia 1

Chaos

Varje Meronyac is not a happy man. You sent a demand to the Bretonians and they’ve had the audacity to ignore it. Do they not know who you are? You must teach them a lesson and wipe them from the face of Norsca. Your spies tell you that they have a line of communication that runs from their town to their logging encampment. If they lose control of this, they will soon perish in these wild lands. While your army is out and about, it would be good to deal a blow to the dwarves. They’re just so plain good. You don’t like that one little bit!

Bonus Point Conditions

Hold at least two of the Bretonian outposts in the valley at the end of the campaign and you’ll gain 1000 bonus points.

If the dwarf army has less than 500 points (before bonuses), you’ll gain 500 bonus points.

Special Conditions

Your army is well trained and organized and can cross any terrain at normal movement rates.

Bretonia

As Rayme Choynli, you are one of two Bretonian commanders whose job it is to gain control of Norsca. Your army is based in Bustop and you must defend it at any cost. There are signs that the dreaded Skaven are on the move, and your superiors in Bretonia would be particularly pleased if you were to defeat them.

Bonus Point Conditions

Keep the town of Bustop safe until the end of the campaign and you will gain 1000 bonus points.

If the Skaven army is wiped out, you will gain 500 bonus points.

Special Conditions

Whilst moving in the land you control, within 4 squares of the river you gain an extra square for every two you move. Your troops though aren’t good in mountains and forests and movement here costs double.

Chaos Original Background

Commander Jarmac Veryeon of Chaos

If there’s one thing you hate in this Universe… No, wait. If there’s two… No, actually, there’s lot’s of things you hate in this Universe, but if you had to pick out two, it’s Space Marines and Imperial Guards. Even worse, your spies tell you that a hated Inquisitor is travelling with The Imperial Guards. The inquisitors make you sick, with their complete loyalty to The Cult of The Emperor.

So what are they both doing heading for this planet in the middle of nowhere? Looking for something you bet. Hmmm. Maybe there’s an opportunity to ambush them, while they’re not watching their backs. The Eye of Terror looks favourably on those who succeed.

When you landed, you found Orks. Lots of them. You sent your scouts to speak with them, and for the moment you have an uneasy truce. Both of you, after all seek chaos.

Starting Point

Near the Orks. Don’t trust them too much though, but it might give you some breathing space to get established.

Special Victory Conditions

If the Imperial Guards and their accursed Inquisitor have less than 500 points left at the end of six weeks, you’ll be awarded 500 points.

If the Space Marines have less than 500 points left at the end of six weeks, you’ll be awarded 250 points.

Week 1 Battle Reports

Orks vs Tau 2

As the Tau reinforcements attempted to establish themselves on the planet of Ervinrud, they ran into Waaagh! shaped difficulties. A small force of Tau were overrun by the mighty Space Orks. Will they be able to recover from the blow? Time will tell.

Eldar vs Chaos

Ah, the noble Eldar. In probably the closest contest of the night, they found it hard to establish themselves on the planet of Elvinrud, eventually seeing defeat at the hands of the Chaos Space Marines.

Imperial Guard vs Tau 1

The vicious Emperor's Inquisitor destroyed the fledgling defences of the home Tau fleet. Can the Tau possible hold on to this remote outpost of their empire? The inquisitor hadn't finished his night's work though...

Imperial Guard vs Space Marines

What? I thought they were on our side? Before the Space Marines knew what had hit them, they'd suffered a defeat at the hands of the Imperial Guard. Surely they should have the same goals as us? Glory for the Emperor? Hmmm.

And where are the Tyranids?
