A Word on Campaign Tactics - Part 1
All I'll say is this. Remember the rules. You can play up to 1000 points. You can play less (much less), so long as it is a valid 40K army. Might be better to reduce the risk and concentrate on building resources on the campaign map?
Week 1 Battle Reports
As the Tau reinforcements attempted to establish themselves on the planet of Ervinrud, they ran into Waaagh! shaped difficulties. A small force of Tau were overrun by the mighty Space Orks. Will they be able to recover from the blow? Time will tell.
Eldar vs Chaos
Ah, the noble Eldar. In probably the closest contest of the night, they found it hard to establish themselves on the planet of Elvinrud, eventually seeing defeat at the hands of the Chaos Space Marines.
Imperial Guard vs Tau 1
The vicious Emperor's Inquisitor destroyed the fledgling defences of the home Tau fleet. Can the Tau possible hold on to this remote outpost of their empire? The inquisitor hadn't finished his night's work though...
Imperial Guard vs Space Marines
What? I thought they were on our side? Before the Space Marines knew what had hit them, they'd suffered a defeat at the hands of the Imperial Guard. Surely they should have the same goals as us? Glory for the Emperor? Hmmm.
And where are the Tyranids?

A Rules Summary
1 The rules can change at any time.
2 Each player starts with 2000 points to spend. Each week, they will face a battle against another player. They may field up to 1000 points of troops in battle, using any units from their army. There is no minimum, but unless you don’t have enough points to do it, you must field a valid 40K army.
3 The loser of this battle loses all points lost on the battlefield from their total. The winner can recover half their lost points.
4 Players can gain points by controlling areas of the planet Ervinrud. They can also claim other bonuses which are only revealed to them. They move their troops around at the end of each week, with the following week’s battles based on where they end up.
5 Non-attendance will cost you 200 points. You also don’t get to move that week and get no bonus points. Non-attendance without a day’s notice will cost you 300 points.
6 The player with the most points at the end of six weeks will be declared the winner. This gives you the right to dance around the shop and generally celebrate.
Campaign Storyline
Campaign Background
Orks ravage planets as they continue forward on their never ending quest of Waagh! The strange hive fleets of Tyranids become an ever greater threat as the years pass and the mysterious Eldar dream of regaining the power they held long before the days of the empire. Of course, there are also the dark forces of Chaos, seeking to subvert the will of the Emperor at every turn.
The Planet of Ervinrud
Ervinrud is a small planet on the edge of the Mordant Zone. Bitterly cold and covered with desert, it’s a place that not many thought important until now. However, long before the history of man begins, the mysterious Eldar ruled this area of space and legend tells that Ervinrud was a military centre for their race. Rumours abound of strange artifacts buried deep within the planet’s crust, the power of which can only be imagined by mere mortals.
Of course, when the Eldar suffered heavy defeats millennia ago, this area of space was abandoned and left uninhabited. When the Tau Empire arrived, a mere few hundred years ago, they found small Tyranid hives, which they successfully beat back. They have controlled this planet in relative peace since then, mining its sources of rare metals.
But suddenly one day, the astronomers of the small Tau hometown on the planet spotted the menacing shapes of Imperial ships in the skies. Surely a small, worthless planet like this doesn’t warrant an invasion? Reinforcements have been sent for and battle plans prepared. But the problems don’t end there. It was long supposed by the Tau, that the evil Tyranids had been wiped from the planet, but scouts have reported signs of Tyranid life. With all the attention this small corner of the universe is receiving; perhaps it won’t be long until other much feared races turn their attentions to Ervinrud.
