On Countdown to War of The Rings

The most exciting launch from Games Workshop in years is fast approaching. War of The Rings takes the original Lord of The Rings game and significantly ups the scale, allowing players to recreate the key battles for middle-earth. We can't wait!

A reminder to all our regulars to get your Rulebooks pre-ordered. They're due early April!

New Additions To The Range

Just as an aside, we're still working on upping the range we hold in stock. Our goal is to have every army's core units in stock all the time. Last week, it was the turn of Lizardmen, which nicely coincided with the launch of the new army book, stegadon, etc.

League Prizes Unveiled

Bad weather has curtailed league matches a bit recently, but they've still been going on slowly. I'll put an updated league table up over the next few days (promise, really ... well hopefully)

Anyway, I can finally unveil the prizes. I've dropped plenty of clues - not figures, but something any Warhammer player would want, not valuable but you'll all want one.... etc, etc.

Well, for the four winners we have exclusive Warhammer posters, signed by Games Workshop legend Pete Foley. Head of 'Eavy Metal, Pete Foley has worked on all manner of your favourite figures as well as finding the time to write the Eldar Codex (pictured). So truly a smashing prize. Good luck everyone.

Much More Hobby Stuff

Just a quick heads up for our regular customers - this week sees the arrival of the entire hobby range from Games Workshop - now we'll be supplying every paint and all the other great stuff to add superb finishing touches to your models. Autumn League Sign Ups

This autumn, we've changed things around a little, and are running four leagues instore on Thursday nights. There'll be Junior Warhammer Fantasy, Junior Warhammer 40K, Senior Warhammer Fantasy and Senior Warhammer 40K. Full league rules to be posted right here soon, but basically it'll be a normal league idea - everyone plays each other once - 1000 point armies for the juniors, 1500 point armies for the seniors. All players must have a codex and army list in their possession before every battle. Oh, and we've got some great prizes too!

Well, when we started stocking 40K codexes, we had no idea how fast they'd start to sell. Following on from that, obviously we're starting to bring in the Warhammer Fantasy Army Books. Codex: Follow Up to Earlier Post

Just to let you know that we've now compelted our plans to stock the codex for all major 40K armies. (Tau, Tyranids, Chaos Space Marines, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Imperial Guard, Chaos Demons, Necrons and Orks.) Of course, we've held off with the Space Marine one until it's re-released later in the year.
